Name Your Flame

The brief from Nando's was to create an advertising campaign that brought an eccentric sense of humour to their customers; and re-enforced their point of difference...their products are flame grilled. The campaign was going to be driven by immersive content web experience and benefit from an 8-week media plan.


We created the "Name Your Flame" advertising campaign; rooted in the comedic re-discovery of a TV dating-game. We were inspired by the cheesy and cheeky romantic gameshows of the 1970s and set the show in that era. Additionally, we built a game show set and designed a highly-engagning web experience - housing all four episodes of content. The media plan included a complete social media content plan; and an option to extend into the TVNZ Demand market and outdoor. The goals of the campaign were to inaugurate a Facebook audience, open the doors to customer interactivity and begin the brand narrative driven by highly-stylised design & commercial content.


The “Name Your Flame” advertising campaign was a success across every media channel engaged; including Facebook, Youtube, Digital Advertising, TVNZ on Demand, Outdoor and In-Restaurant. The digital advertising campaign resulted in more than 180,000 video views and increased brand engagement by 58% across all social media channels.
